NEWS: Pipitone Group to Make History with French & Indian War Website

Pittsburgh, April 28, 2005—The Pipitone Group has been awarded a contract by French and Indian War 250, Inc., an initiative of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, to re-engineer the official web portal for the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War, 2004-2010. The website, financed by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Community and Economic Development, will promote tourism in Pennsylvania via the region’s unique historic sites and ultimately will be expanded to include sites in 20 other states and Canada.

“Our challenge is to encourage visitors and to bring history to life for a number of difference audiences and channels,” said Scott Pipitone, founder and chief creative officer of the Pipitone Group. “This website is a valuable tool for all of them, and the region in general.”

“The Pipitone Group brought a strong track record and a unique approach to the table,” said Laura Fisher, Senior Vice President of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and Director of French and Indian War 250, Inc. “We feel channel marketing was the best philosophy to convey our excitement about the 250th anniversary to our constituents—everyone from professional historians to teachers, students, and casual visitors—and encourage them to visit our region.”

“French & Indian War 250, Inc. is a nonprofit coalition of organizations joined to raise visibility and showcase events at sites related to the 250th anniversary of the French and Indian War.
