Pittsburgh, May 19, 2010 — Sauereisen, a manufacturer of corrosion-resistant materials, is the only Western & Central Pa. business to receive the President's "E" Star Award for Exports. The "E" Star Award recognizes the company for its achievement in supporting export growth in the U.S. Business community during the last three years. Secretary of Commerce, Gary Locke, presented the award to Sauereisen at the Department of Commerce in Washington, DC on Thursday, May 13.
"We are both thrilled and humbled by this honor," said Karl Sauereisen, vice president of Sauereisen. "We are grateful to have enjoyed successful expansion of our international sales. The Pipitone Group has been a valuable partner in our growth."
The "E" Star Award was created by executive order of the president in 1961. Previously, Sauereisen won the "E" Award in 1978 upon establishing an international presence. As a current "E" Star winner, the company is being honored for recent advances as well as sustaining export growth over a prolonged time period.
